
Moore Ties School High Jump Mark in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - IPFW's Katy Moore equaled her own school record in the high jump, while freshman Kayla Zink nearly accomplished the same thing in the shot put as the Mastodons competed at the Gladstein Invitational hosted by Indiana University.
Moore cleared a height of 5-feet, 3-inches, tying her own school record, while placing 11th in the process.
Zink's toss of 41-feet, 5.25-inches (12.63 meters) was less than one centemeter from her toss a week ago of 12.64 meters, placing the freshman 20th in the field. Courtney Bowen placed 34th in the same event with a best toss of 35-1.25 (10.70 meters)
Three Mastodons placed well in the 5,000-meter run, led by Jordan Tomecek's 15th place performance in a time of 18:23.45, while Rebecca Jacobs placed 23rd (19:25.56) and Amaya Ayers 28th in 19:44.71.
Kayla Boyes took 25th in the mile with a time of 5:31.02, while Rachel Zachar (24th) and Rebecca Jacobs (25th) finished back-to-back in the 3,000-meter runs with times of 11:04.83 and 11:08.27, respectively.
Sprinter Kaylin Taylor took 32nd in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:03.12, while teammates Olivia Trimble (35th) and Rylee Sullivan (36th) finished the two-lap race in times of 1:07.48 and 1:07.98, each.
Nicole Urdahl placed 27th in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.92, while placing 43rd in the 60-meter dash (8.61), just behind teammate Courtney Hodgen (39th / 8.41 seconds).
The squad returns to action next Saturday when the squad hosts the IPFW Quadrangular Meet.
