SERIES VS NORTH DAKOTA STATE
The Bison lead the all-time series against IPFW 9-3. Even though North Dakota State defeated the 'Dons earlier this season, IPFW has had recent success against the Bison. IPFW swept the season series a year ago taking a 68-55 road win in the first matchup, followed by a 79-46 victory at the Gates Sports Center.
LAST TIME OUT
IPFW was defeated by South Dakota State by the final score of 77-66 on Saturday night. Stephanie Rosado returned to the lineup on Saturday night providing a game-high 21 points for the Mastodons. Rosado was back in action for the first time since January 9. She went 7-for-15 from the floor and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Sarah Haluska and Amanda Hyde also played well for IPFW. Haluska hit all four of her field goal attempts while adding on a pair of free throws. She was also tied for the team-high in rebounds with six. Hyde joined Haluska with six boards while pouring in 14 points.
The Mastodons trailed 34-30 at the half. The first 20 minutes were extremely close, featuring four ties and six lead changes. The Jackrabbits improved their shooting to 60 percent in the second half to pull away with the win.
CLIMBING THE CONFERENCE LADDER
IPFW senior Anne Boese is in a race with South Dakota State senior Jill Young to see who is the best three point shooter in Summit League history. Both Boese and Young have passed the old record of 262, set by Brenna Doty from 1994-97. Boese is currently in first with 278, while Young is close behind at 271. The record will likely change hands numerous times over the second half of the season, and after the dust settles, one of the two will hold the all-time mark.
PERFECT FROM THE LINE
IPFW was focused from the charity stripe on Saturday night as the team hit all 19 of their free throw attempts. The perfect 19-for-19 mark set a school record. The old record of 15-for-15 was set during the 1993 season. It also marks the third best performance from the line in Summit League history.
QUICK HITTERS
- The Mastodons have made a three-point basket in 396 consecutive games, the fifth longest active streak in the NCAA.
- IPFW has used nine different starting lineups this season, with only Anne Boese starting all 21 games for the Mastodons.
