SERIES vs. EASTERN KENTUCKY
This is just the second all-time meeting between between IPFW and Eastern Kentucky. The teams first met on January 15, 2002, IPFW's first season as a NCAA Division I member, and EKU toppled the Mastodons 100-96 in overtime. A year later the Mastodons returned the favor in Fort Wayne with a 79-76 IPFW victory.
LAST TIME OUT
Frank Gaines scored a game-high 28 points, but it was not enough as the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles clinched the Summit League regular season title in a 75-71 Golden Eagle victory on Senior Day at the Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday.
Gaines made 10-of-15 shots from the field, and 5-of-7 from long range, while also pulling down a game-high eight
rebounds, and dishing out a team-best three assists. Trey McCorkle also reached double-digits in the scoring column with 12 points, while Jonny Marlin and Mario Hines each added eight points off of the bench.
The Mastodons came out of the gate quickly, using three baskets from McCorkle, and one each from John Peckinpaugh, Gaines to jump ahead to a quick 10-2 lead five minutes into the game.
