KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The IPFW Mastodon men's soccer team fell to the Western Michigan Broncos (3-0-0), who were receiving votes in the latest national poll, by a 3-0 score on Wednesday afternoon.

The Mastodons put up seven shot attempts en route to their second straight 3-0 loss, as the Broncos put up 21 shots in the contest.

The Broncos dominated play early, as sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Cloutier made two saves in the first half, but saw one get past him in the 37th minute when Ryan Lemasters took a pass from Kyle Farris who beat Cloutier lower far post, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead that they would take into halftime.

Western Michigan added their second goal of the game when Marco Lobo's corner kick scooted through the hands of Cloutier with 26:10 left on the clock. Less than 10 minutes later Darren Jones' dangerous free kick from just outside the box was stopped by Cloutier; however, Yilson Asani was there to pick up the loose ball and put it into the back of the net for the game's final score.

Seven different players had one shot for the Mastodons, with Scott Williams and Jackson Tooke putting shots on goal. Cloutier picked up five total saves in the game, while his counterpart had two.

The Mastodons return to action on Monday, September 3 when the squad plays host to the Marshall Thundering Herd in a noon kickoff on Labor Day.
