QUICK HITTERS
• After the Labor Day game, the Mastodons don't return back to the Hefner Soccer Complex for another game until September 18 when the squad hosts the Xavier Musketeers in a stretch of three home games in a four-game span, and eight of the final 13 games of the season.
• IPFW's last opponent, Western Michigan, was receiving points in the NSCAA National Poll.
• The Mastodons next travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., to compete in the PITT/Nike Invitational, facing Pittsburgh and Duquesne.
• Marshall is the first of two Conference USA opponents that IPFW hosts this season, including Kentucky. The Wildcats, who play the majorty of its sports in the SEC, play in C-USA because the SEC does not sponsor men's soccer, as does South Carolina.
