
Men's Golf Battles to 12th Place at Wolf Run

RESULTS
ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - Behind a final-round 304, the IPFW Mastodons climbed into 12th place against the strong field of the Wolf Run Invitational.
The team's 304 was the ninth lowest final round in the field of 14 that included numerous Big Ten schools. IPFW finished 12th with a three-round score of 919, three ahead of Summit League rival IUPUI, and 53 ahead of Butler in 14th. Illinois took home the team championship with a three-round score of 855, while host Indiana (858), Ohio State (865), Texas Tech (868), Kentucky (879), Michigan State (883), Akron (887), Eastern Michigan (888), Wisconsin (895), Miami of Ohio (903), and Northern Illinois (915) all finished ahead of the 'Dons.
Drew Imel carded a final-round 74, giving him 226 for the three rounds, placing in a tie for 41st overall in the field of 81. E.J. Tackett, IPFW's low golfer at the last event, was second lowest this weekend, using a 76 to shoot a 233, tying for 59th.
Drake Devereux shot a final-round 76, tying for the second lowest on the day, while shooting a three-round 237 for a tie of 64th, the same overall finish as Jacob Groninger, who used a final-round 85 to also shoot a 237. Bruno Carvalho placed 72nd overall, shooting a final-round 78 for a 240.
The squad hits the course next for a tournament on October 1 and 2, when the squad will look to defend its 2011 Cleveland State Invitational Championship from last season.
