Women's Soccer Steps Out of Conference on Wednesday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - For the final time in the 2013 season, the IPFW women's soccer squad will step out of conference action when the team travels to Chicago to face off against the Loyola Rambers in a 7 p.m. kickoff.

SCOUTING THE RAMBLERS
Loyola heads into the non-conference match-up with a 4-5-4 record, including a 2-1 double overtime loss to Missouri State on Saturday.
Samantha Gage has scored four goals for the Ramblers, while eight others: Tricia Stonebraker, Valerie Gonyo, Maggie Olsen, Monika Lee, Jessica Bean, Alexandra Gage, Kara Ruffolo, and Kristin Rodriguez each have one goal on the year. Shelby Koch has dished out four assists, with Tricia Stonebraker giving out two helpers.
Defensively, Monica Gonyo has spent the entire season in goal for the Ramblers, and has a 1.20 goals against average with four shutouts and 65 saves.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The IPFW Mastodons are looking to snap out of their current eight-match losing skid on Wednesday evening with a trip to face the Loyola Rambers.
Gaby Romo has led the IPFW offense with a pair of goals, as Brooke Bishir and Hailey Mariotti have each scored once. Three other players, Delia Soucie, Andie Lazzerini, and Erin Gill each have an assist for the squad.
Sam Pavlika has been in goal for all 1000-plus minutes of the season, and has a 2.06 goals against average with two shutouts and 61 saves.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Loyola holds a 4-0-1 lead in the all-time series between the two teams, and have out-scored IPFW 14-3 in those five matches. The Ramblers took the first three meetings in 2002, 2003, and 2004 before the Mastodons played to a draw in 2005 by a 1-1 score. In 2006, Loyola won 2-0, which stands as the last meeting between the teams until this season.
