FORT WAYNE, Ind. - After wrapping up the Preseason WNIT this past weekend, the IPFW women's basketball team returns home for a pair of games beginning with Southern Illinois tonight, November 18 at 7 p.m. The 'Dons are looking to pick up their first win of the season over tha Salukis whom are also winless and have not played since November 12.

Scouting the Salukis
Southern Illinois dropped a heartbreaker in the previous game to Austin Peay as the Lady Governors hit a jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining to defeat the Salukis 71-69. SIU was led by junior guard Cartaesha Macklin who finished with 20 points, four rebounds and four assists. Southern Illinois turned the ball over 21 times in the game as Austin Peay scored 24 points off those turnovers.Scouting the Salukis
SIU in under the direction of first year head coach Cindy Stein. Stein previously spent time at Illinois Central College and prior to that was the head coach at Missouri for 12 seasons from 1998-2010.
Macklin was voted to the 2013-14 preseason All-MVC team, after leading the Salukis and was second in the conference in scoring in 2012-13 with 15.0 points per game and became the first Saluki in history to lead the Valley in assist average with 4.2 per game. She needs just 8 points to join the 1,000 point club for the Salukis. In addition to Macklin, Southern returns its leading rebounder (277) and blocker (36) in Dyana Pierre and leading three-point shooter (.371) in Jordyn Courier. Southern also returns five players who started five or more games, including four of whom started 20 or more.
