BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The IPFW Mastodons dropped their final non-conference match of the 2013 season on Tuesday night, falling to the Bowling Green Falcons by an 8-0 score.
IPFW (1-14-1) was out-shot 38-to-6 in the match, with the 'Dons picking up a dozen saves, six each from starting goalkeeper Raphael Kotzock and six from reserve goalkeeper Will Brown. Jose Rodriguez and Spencer Brown each had two shots for IPFW - one each on goal - while Kyle Ackerman and Corey Tom each had one shot.
Bowling Green (6-7-5) scored first in the match, when Zach Schewee put a shot into the back of the net 4:36 into the match, providing the eventual game-winning score. The Falcons added first-half scores in the 17th and 38th minute, sending the Mastodons into the locker room trailing 3-0.
BGSU scored five second-half goals, running away with the 8-0 victory.
The Mastodons return to action on November 9, when the team travels to Omaha, Neb., to face off against the Mavericks in each teams' season finale.
