Mastodons Host Nationally Ranked Denver in Summit Tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons will host nationally ranked Denver (14th/National Soccer Coaches Association) in the first of two games at the Hefner Soccer Complex in the first round of the 2013 Summit League Soccer Championships.
2013 marks the second straight year the Mastodons have advanced to the Summit League Tournament, advancing to the League Championship match a season ago.
IPFW is led by a pair of freshmen, Gaby Romo and Andie Lazzerini, who have scored four and three goals, respectively. Brooke Bishir has scored twice, as Mayson Whitman, Cassie Egle, and Hailey Mariotti have each scored once. Lazzerini and Sydney Hoareau each have two assists to lead the team.
Sam Pavlika has spent every minute of the 2013 season in the goal, and has a 1.74 goals against average with five shutouts and 98 saves.

Defensively, freshman Cassidy Rey hasa 0.48 goals against average on the year, with six shutouts, allowing seven goals and picking up 62 saves. Amelia Davis has seen limited time off the bench, 340:57 total on the year, and has allowed just one goal while picking up a dozen saves.
