Bowling Green Holds Off IPFW 4-3

Final Results
PERRYSBURG, OH – The IPFW women's tennis team lost 4-3 at Bowling Green on Friday afternoon. The Falcons are now 8-1 overall as the Mastodons slide to 6-5. The match took place at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
Bowling Green earned a big point early in the contest as they recorded a win in both No.2 and No. 3 Doubles play. Each team earned three wins in singles competition which gave the Falcons a close win.
Theresa Neumeyr and Miloslava Shustova fell in No. 2 Doubles 8-3, but the Mastodons came right back to even the series after a No. 1 Doubles win by Anita Henestrosa and Caterina Kiefer (8-6). No. 3 Doubles featured the tandem of Marcy Huck and Kristine Lindal. They had a close game, but were ultimately defeated 8-6.
Henestrosa, Kiefer, and Shustova all recorded wins over BGSU in Singles competition. Henestrosa won 6-4, 7-6 (6) in No. 1 Singles and Kiefer earned a win in No. 3 Singles 6-3, 7-5.
Shustova continues to be a bright spot on the roster as she easily defeated Mary Hill in No. 4 Singles 6-2, 6-3.
Lindal battled in No. 2 Singles but was knocked out 7-6 (4), 6-1 and Huck was defeated 6-3, 6-3 in No. 5 Singles. Rounding out the rotation was Neumeyr who took a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Katie Brozovich in No. 6 Singles.
