Women's Tennis Pair Named Academic All-Summit League

ELMHURST, Ill. - Two members of the 2014-15 IPFW women's tennis team - Mayu Sato and Sofia Sorokina - have been named to the Academic All-Summit League squad, announced by the Summit League.
Sato, a two-time Summit League Player of the Year, finished the season with a 35-7 overall record, including a 27-4 mark during the spring season - all at No. 1 singles. She ended her Summit League career with an undefeated mark, as she was also 25-12 during the doubles season, including a 17-10 mark during the spring.
Sato has a 3.89 grade point average in interior design.
Sorokina, who was named to the All-Summit League squad, ended the season with a 23-12 overall record, and an 18-6 mark during the spring between No. 2 (1-0), No. 3 (2-0), No. 4 (7-5), and No. 5 (8-1) singles, while going 6-1 in league matches.
Sorokina has a perfect 4.0 grade point average in mathematics.
The Mastodons ended the 2015 season with a 24-8 overall record, falling in the Summit League semifinals to tournament runner-up South Dakota State.
