
Henestrosa Named Summit League Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Anita Henestrosa has been recognized as The Summit League women's tennis player of the week for her performances March 12-18. The senior earns her first player of the week award of the season and the third of her outstanding career at IPFW.
Henestrosa got off to a great start to the Summit League season posting a combined record of 8-0 in singles and doubles matches this past weekend.
Playing the No. 1 singles position, Henestrosa cruised to straight-set victories in each of her matches at the Kansas City cluster. She beat Western Illinois' Yessenia Mejia 6-0, 6-0, South Dakota State's Florencia Magni 6-4, 6-2, Omaha's Alex Tran 6-1, 6-1 and Kansas City's Laura Bouet 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, she played at the No. 1 slot alongside Caterian Kiefer. The tandem recorded an 8-0 win over WIU and then posted two 8-2 victories over both South Dakota State and Omaha. The team ended the weekend with an 8-4 triumph over Kansas City.
Henestrosa improved her singles record to 15-6 and doubles mark to 18-4 while leading the Mastodons to a 4-0 start in The Summit League. IPFW is now 15-7 overall.
