FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons look to continue on their strong start to the 2013 season on Wednesday, when the squad travels south on I-69 to face off against the Ball State Cardinals.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Ball State comes into the Wednesday evening meeting having going 2-1 in their opening weekend with wins over Austin Peay and the Citadel, with a loss at USF.
Leading the way for the team after the first weekend of action was Alex Fuelling who had 43 kills, while Hayley Benson and Kylee Baker eacch had 32 kills. Jacqui Seidel dished out 124 assists to pace the squad, while Fuelling and Baker each have five service aces.
Catie Fredrich has picked up 54 digs, while Fuelling and Baker have 33 and 31, each. Hayley Benson has a team-best eight blocks.
ALL-TIME SERIES
IPFW and Ball State have met 14 times total since 1987, and the teams have met every season since 2001. IPFW won the first meeting in 1987, before the Cardinals took the next five meetings. The Mastodons took two of three in 2005 and 2007, and won the most recent battle last season.
