Jenkins Tie For Third To Lead Mastodons at Dayton Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio - The IPFW men's golf team sits in a three-way tie for 11th place with a score of 305 after the first round of the Dayton Fall Invitational. The Mastodons are tied with Robert Morris and Youngstown State.
Hosted by the University of Dayton at the par-71 NCR Country Club South Course, the tournament is being played at 7,100 yards. Xavier holds a one-stroke lead for the team title with a day one score of 293. George Rohde III of Dayton carded a 3-under-par 68 to lead the 100-player field.
IPFW sits two strokes out of eighth places behind St. Bonaventure (303), and Valparaiso and Wright State (304).
Devin Jenkins tied a career-low with a round of 1-over-par 72 and is tied for third. With a 77 for the opening round, Clark Tiller sits in a tie for 46th place. The duo of David Watterson and Drake Devereux are tied for 58th with rounds of 78, respectively. Tyler Meyer rounded out the Mastodon squad for the day in a tie for 92nd after carding an 84.
Playing as an Individual for the 'Dons is Carter Dornseif finishing tied for 58th with a score of 78.
The final round of the Dayton Fall Invitational will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on October 21.
