Twice As Nice...
Haley Seibert was named The Summit League's Co-Player of the Week along with South Dakota State's Megan Waytashek for their performances Dec. 1-7.
Seibert collects her second career honor after guiding IPFW to a 2-1 record and connecting on all 26 of her free throw attempts last week. Currently, Seibert has drained 51 consecutive free throws, which ranks eighth all-time in NCAA history. On Thursday, she tallied 24 points and dished out four assists in a win at Chicago State on Thursday. The senior guard followed that performance with 19 points, including her 1,000th career point, and two rebounds in Saturday's victory over Northern Kentucky. She also went 14-of-14 at the line which tied a program record and is tied for second in league history. To begin the week, Seibert scored 14 points with three rebound and two assists in an overtime loss to Detroit. For the week, Seibert average 19 points, 2.3 assists, two rebounds and one steal per game while recording a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Seibert 19th Mastodon with 1,000 Points...
Senior Haley Seibert eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career with a free throw at the 14:28 mark of the second half in IPFW's win over NKU on Dec. 6. She became the 19th play in women's basketball history to join the club.
Under head coach Chris Paul, Seibert becomes the eight different IPFW player to eclipse the century mark, including two of the top-four scorers all-time in Mastodon history - Johnna Lewis-Carlisle and Amanda Hyde. The other five are Jordan Zuppe, Stephanie Rosado, Anne Boese, Ashley Johnson, and Chelsey Jackson.
Cool as a Cucumber...
After missing her first free throw attempt of the season at Illinois, Haley Seibert connected on her next 54 attempts until missing her first attempt at Indiana. That mark ranks 6th all-time in Division I history entering the season. Former Mastodon Stephanie Rosado ranks 27th on the all-time list when she made 36 straight from Jan. 2 - Feb. 1, 2010
Three-Point Streak...
The IPFW Mastodons have made a 3-point field goal in 474 straight contests, a stretch that ranks as the third longest active streak in NCAA Division I. Iowa State's streak is at the top of the list by making a 3-point field goal in 619 consecutive games. Sam Houston State is the only other team head of IPFW with 570.
