'Dons Fall In Overtime To Titans

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's basketball team dropped a home game for the first time this season, falling in overtime to Detroit 81-74.
Haley Seibert led the Mastodons with 14 points on the night. Rachel Rinehart and Courtney Ogle also finished in double-digits for the 'Dons with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Ogle led the team with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Rinehart and KeShyra McCarver each grabbed eight rebounds.
All 10 IPFW players that saw action had at least one point and one rebound.
The Mastodons opened the game by scoring the first four points before Detroit answered back with a pair of three-pointers. The two sides exchanged baskets over the final 10 minutes of the first half as IPFW's Allyson Bunch connected from downtown with 12 seconds to go, giving the 'Dons a 29-28 lead at the break.
IPFW opened the second half just as it did the first, with four straight points. At the 14:46 mark, Detroit knocked down a three-pointer to tie the score 35-35. The Mastodons responded by taking a nine-point lead, but a 14-5 run by the Titans tied the game at 56-56 with 5:37 left in the game. With the 'Dons leading by three points late, Detroit's Rosanna Reynolds knocked down a three-pointer with 7.3 seconds left to send the game into overtime.
In the first overtime game of the season for the Mastodons, they led 73-72 before the Titans scored nine of the final 10 points to snatch the win.
IPFW travels to Chicago State on December 4 with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m.
