FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Coming off of a five-day holiday break, the IPFW Mastodons face off against the Judson Eagles - coached by former IPFW assistant coach Joel Cotton - in the second of two games of a women's / men's doubleheader at the Gates Sports Center.

QUICK HITTERS
• In the last meeting between IPFW and Judson, the Mastodons set school records for fewest points allowed (22), and largest margin of victory (70).
• Isaiah McCray, one of the smallest players on the IPFW squad, ranks 241st in the country in blocked shots, despite standing just six feet tall.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons come into the game against Judson looking to snap out of their current two-game losing skid.
In the team's most recent game, a 68-43 loss to Illinois State, the Redbirds jumped out to a quick 9-1 lead and the Mastodons never led in the loss. Joe Reed scored a game-high-tying 12 points for IPFW, while Isaiah McCray added 10 points. Reed pulled down a game-high nine boards for the Mastodons, while McCray led the team in assists and steals.
The Mastodons have four players averaging double-figure points during the season, with a fifth just off of the pace. Steve Forbes averages 15.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, both team-highs, while Joe Edwards has scored 11.6 points per game during the year. McCray and Mo Evans have scored 11.2 and 10.2 points per game, respectively. Reed is two points away from the double-figure plateau, having scored 98 points in 10 games.
Forbes and Isaiah McCray (6.3 rebounds per game) help push the Mastodons to out-rebound their opponents this season, while McCray also leads the team with 12 blocked shots and 18 steals. Evans' 39 assists are a team-high, as 165 of the team's 264 baskets this season have been assisted.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Judson comes into the game having won its last two games, 70-63 over Trinity Christian and 79-71 over Goshen.
In the win against Goshen, Andrew Eck scored 20 points, hitting 6-of-11 shots from the field, and all four of his three-point attempts. Three others - Will Woodhouse, Luke Pearson, and Troy Jackson - each scored 13 points with Drew Makiewicz narrowly missed the double-figure plateau with nine points. Illya Galloway pulled down eight rebounds, while Turner Schwarz dished out five assists.
Eck paces the team during the season by averaging 12.9 points per game, hitting on 49 percent of his three-point attempts, and 83 percent from the charity stripe. Makiewicz is second on the team by averaging 9.7 points per game, with Woodhouse pouring in 8.7 boards per contest.
Galloway is the team leader in rebounding, pulling down 75 on the year, as the Eagles out-rebound their opponents by an average of a half rebound per game. Cody Thomas has dished out 31 assists, while also leading the team with 10 steals.
LAST TIME AGAINST JUDSON
The IPFW men's basketball team set a single-game school record for fewest points allowed in a game, as IPFW ran past the Judson Eagles by a 92-22 final score at the Memorial Coliseum on November 20, 2012.
The 22 points are the fewest allowed in school history, 14 fewer than the previous low of 36 set against IU-East on November 25, 2008. The 70-point margin of victory is also a single-game school record, as the previous record was 52 set against Marygrove in a 106-54 win on December 1, 2007.
Four Mastodon players reached double-figure scoring, led by a career-high 17 from Herbert Graham, while Frank Gaines scored 15, Joe Reed 14, and Luis Jacobo 13. Kevin Harden finished with nine points, while Isaiah McCray, Mario Hines, and Joe Edwards each scored eight.
McCray pulled down a game-high eight rebounds, with Jacobo snagging six, as IPFW out-rebounded the Eagles 43-to-23. Joe Edwards dished out a career-high five assists, while Herbert Graham picked up four steals.
IPFW scored the first four points of the game before Judson knocked down a basket with 16:20 to play in the first half, cutting the deficit in half. From there, IPFW ran off 17 consecutive points over a nearly nine minute span, as IPFW climbed ahead 21-2.
The Mastodons led 30-4 after a Graham lay-in with 4:46 to play, and 38-6 after a Reed lay-up, before Judson closed the first half by scoring five of the last seven points to close the halftime gap to 40-11 at the break.
IPFW used runs of 12-0, 16-0, and 20-0 in the second half, pushing the team's lead to as many as 72, before the Eagles got the final two points of the game to give the game its 92-22 final score.
