Men's Golf Begins Spring Season at WIU Invitational

SANTEE, Calif. - In the first tournament of the spring season, the IFPW men's golf team will head to California for a two-day tournament hosted by conference rival Western Illinois at the Carlton Oaks Golf Course just outside San Diego.

Where: Carlton Oaks Golf Course, Santee, Calif.
Par: 72
Yardage: 6,700
COMPETING TEAMS
The nine-team field will include Bradley, Cal State Bakersfield, DePaul, Western Illinois, Oakland, Omaha, St. Bonaventure, and individuals from San Diego State.
THE COURSE
Carlton Oaks is one of the top-rated golf courses in the San Diego area and has a long history of hosting numerous prestigious golf events including the first stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 2010, U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur qualifiers and a Canadian Tour qualifier. Carlton Oaks has also hosted the NCAA Western Region Finals and the NCAA Championship in 1974.
IPFW LINEUP
The Mastodons will use a young squad for the tournament with just one upperclassman in junior Jacob Groninger. Also making the trip will be sophomores Drake Devereux, Oliver Gibson and Dan Wert. Rounding out the squad for the first tournament will be freshmen Carter Dornseif and Devin Jenkins.
