Golfers Finish 26th At Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The IPFW men's golf team closed out the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate, shooting a 311 in the final round to finish in 26th place with a three-day total of 930.
Hosted by The College of William & Mary at the par-70 River Course at the Kingsmill Resort, the course was played at 6,765 yards. Texas Tech took home the team title with a tournament total 851. The Red Raiders also took home the individual medalist in Clement Sordet who shot a 2-under-par 208 for the tournament.
For the second straight day, all five IPFW golfers recorded at least one birdie on the day. Jacob Groninger, Carter Dornseif, and Drake Devereux all made two birdies in the round.
Groninger led the Mastodons with a final round score of 76 to finish in a tie for 25th with a three-day total of 220. Dornseif shot an 82 on the day for a three-round score of 230, tying for 83rd place. In a tie for 130th was Daniel Shepard, shooting a 79 in the final round and a 242 on the week. Devereux?? finished one stroke back for the tournament in a tie for 134th place, carding a 79 for the round. On the final day, Devin Jenkins fired a 77, his lowest round of the tournament, to finish in 138th place with a three-day score of 249.
IPFW next competes at the two-day, 54-hole, Bradley Invitational beginning April 5 at 8:30 a.m.
