FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's soccer team opens league play as they host in-state rival IUPUI on Saturday, September 27. The match is set to kick off at 7 p.m., at the Hefner Soccer Complex.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW battled to a physical, scoreless tie against Green Bay on Sunday afternoon, improving their record to 2-3-3. Raphael Kotzock tied his career high with nine saves, while lowering his goals against average to 1.16. Kotzock now sits third in the Summit League with 21 saves on the year, with both Yves Dietrich of Western Illinois (41) and Ben Lacourse of Oral Roberts (33) ahead of him. Dietrich and Lacourse have each seen at least 115 more minutes in net compared to Kotzock.Based on points their nine points, the 'Dons sit fifth in the Summit League with conference play opening on Saturday. Oral Roberts (3-2-1), Omaha (3-3-1), and Western Illinois (3-4-1) each have ten points, while Denver (5-3-0) leads the league with 15. The top four teams in the Summit League will earn a spot in the Summit League tournament, held in Denver, Colorado from November 14-16.
The Blue and White are led offensively by Corey Tom's five points off two goals and an assist. West has placed the most shots on goal for the 'Dons, with seven, while Spencer Brown leads the team in shots on goal percent (.800) for all players with at least five shots. Brown has placed four-of-five shots on goal.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI is led by Emmanuel Usen's six points, coming off three goals. Usen has placed half (5-of-10) of his shots on goal for the Jaguars, while Uriel Macias has the most shots (11) on the team. The Jaguars have five student-athletes, each with an assist on the year.Christian Lomelia and Eduardo Cortes have split time in net for IUPUI, with Lomeli getting four starts during the season, while Cortes has two. Each goalkeeper sits 1-2-0 through six matches. Lomeli has made 17 saves, earning a .773 save percentage and a 1.25 goals against average, including a shutout, in 360 minutes played. Cortes has 12 saves, for a .632 save percentage, and a 3.50 goals against average in 180 minutes of action.
