Men's Golf Begins Its Season At The Derek Dolenc Invitational

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The IPFW men's golf season kicks off on September 8 at the Derek Dolenc Invitational. The two-day tournament hosted by SIUE will be held at the Sunset Hills Country Club.

COMPETING TEAMS
IPFW will compete against 14 other teams. The Mastodons and host SIUE will be joined by: Belmont, Bradley, Drake, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Missouri State, Murray State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Southern Illinois, South Dakota, UT Martin, and Western Illinois

THE COURSE
Sunset Hills Country Club is one of the most scenic and challenging golf courses in the greater St. Louis area. Our 170-plus acres of hilly terrain boast grand, mature trees, prairie grasses, fabulous flowers and a colorful and lively butterfly garden. We strive to achieve thick rough, tight fairways and quick greens. Even with the work architect Keith Foster oversaw in 1997 bringing updates to the course, it continues to play like the traditional golf courses of a bygone era. It's a fairly tough course, the finishing two holes offering a challenging conclusion to the round.
