LAS VEGAS – The IPFW men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Cal State Bakersfield to conclude the Mastodon's appearance in the Peter Johann Memorial Classic in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue and White (1-2-1) were unable to overcome three Roadrunner (3-0-0) goals in the first half, as CSUB jumped out to an early lead following Lucas Dall'Orso's goal in the fifth minute of play.
The Roadrunners' would extend their lead after two quick goals from Julian Zamora in the 32nd and 36th minute.
Austin West led the team with three shots during the match, while Scott Williams, Mike Enghofer, and Stephen Danielian each recorded a shot.
Bakersfield held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks, while the Mastodons earned a combined five saves against the roadrunners.
Corey Tom, Jacob Murphy, and Andy O'Donoghue were all named to the Johann Memorial Classic All-Tournament team for their efforts during the two matches.
