Women's Soccer Looks to Continue Strong Stretch in Macomb

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Jason Burr and the recently red-hot IPFW Mastodons return to action on Friday afternoon when the squad faces off against the Western Illinois Leathernecks in a 4 p.m. (ET) kickoff in Macomb, Illinois.

HELPING FOOT
Rachel Good, who came into the season as the team's active goals leader, has dished out a team-best five assists this season, tied with Danielle Orlandella (2005) for the second-most in a season in IPFW history. Her seven career assists stand tied with Danielle Bishop and Lindsay Williamson for sixth-most in a career in school history.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW, which opened the season falling in each of its first eight games has turned the corner on the season, and has a 2-0-1 record in its last three overall matches, outscoring opponents 10-2 during the three-game span.
Five players - Kallianne Mogler, Andie Lazzerini, Kassidy Simpkins, Katrina Sutherly, and Brooke Bishir - each have two goals, while Good leads the team with five assists, as Paityn Fleming has three.
Defensively Kiley Dunning has stopped 70 shots on the season, and has a 2.05 goals against average and two shutouts, while stopping 78.8 percent of the shots put on goal this season.
SCOUTING THE LEATHERNECKS
Western Illinois heads into the weekend game on a six-match losing skid in which the team has been out-scored 17-1.
Three players - Meagan Wilson, Ashley Kuhlmann, Skyler Jessop, and Brianna Hughes - have each scored one goal for the Leathernecks, while five players - Tyra Markey, Gina Scaffidi, Michaela Cody, Madeline Edwards, and Caitlin Rerucha - have an assist to comprise all of the team's scoring this season.
Defensively Victoria Kappel has been in goal for all but 56 minutes of the season, and has a 2.25 goals against average with 34 saves and a .667 save percentage.
