IPFW's Depth Shows in Exhibition Win Over Goshen

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's basketball team overcame first half hurdles to defeat Goshen 82-67 in its lone exhibition game of the season. Four players scored in double-digits for the 'Dons, while nine different players knocked down a field goal.
Rachel Rinehart led all players with 17 points off the bench on 7-of-9 shooting. She also added a team-high seven rebounds and five assists for the Mastodons.
Kamilah Carter put up 16 points and added four assists for the 'Dons. Selena Lozada and Josie Fisher both scored in double-figures for IPFW with 12 and 10, respectively. Fisher also made a game-high four steals for the Mastodons. Isis Parker played strong defensively and finished with seven rebounds.
The 'Dons trailed the Maple Leafs 20-13 midway through the first period, but rallied back to take the lead, 40-37, at the half.
IPFW went on a 12-0 run in the third period after holding off a Goshen rally. The Mastodons held onto their double-digit margin for the remainder of the game. IPFW's bench outscored Goshen 31-17.
As a team, the Mastodons shot 33-80 (41.3%) from the floor, 7-15 (46.7%) from beyond the three-point arc, and 9-12 (75.0%) at the free throw line.
IPFW begins its regular season schedule at home against Trine on November 13 at 11:30 a.m. for its annual kids Fitness Day.
