
IPFW Opens Summit League Action Against Oral Roberts Wednesday Night

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- IPFW will open Summit League men's basketball action against Oral Roberts University on Wednesday night, December 30, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne beginning at 7 p.m. The Mastodons (10-4) of second-year head coach Jon Coffman will be hosting the Golden Eagles (8-6) in the final game of the calendar year 2015. Through 14 games, IPFW has been led in scoring by junior Mo Evans/Indianapolis (16.8), redshirt-senior Max Landis/Indianapolis (15.4), senior Joe Reed/Greenwood (10.8) and redshirt-freshman John Konchar/Chicago, Ill. (10.5). Oral Roberts is coached by Scott Sutton, who is in his 17th season, and the Golden Eagles have been led by redshirt-senior Obi Emegano (22.4) and junior Jalen Bradley (10.0).

Oral Roberts has two scoring in double-figures, including redshirt-senior Obi Emegano (22.4) and junior Jalen Bradley (10.1). The Golden Eagles have averaged 77.7 points, while allowing 78.1 points.

IPFW is 10-4 overall, 0-0 in The Summit League, following an overtime road win at Western Michigan (89-86) on Dec. 22, its third-straight victory. IPFW is coached by Jon Coffman, who is in his second season as head coach, fifth year at the school and 19th overall. The Mastodons have four scoring in double-figures, including junior Mo Evans (16.8), redshirt-senior Max Landis (15.4), Joe Reed (10.8) and redshirt-freshman John Konchar (10.5). IPFW has averaged 74.9 points, while allowing 73.3 points.
Last Time Out
Max Landis scored a game-high 25 points, including the game-winning three-point field goal from left of the circle with 11.2-seconds remaining in overtime, to lead IPFW to a thrilling 89-86 road victory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Mastodons and Western Michigan battled closely through 40 minutes of regulation and the five extra minutes of overtime in a contest that featured 13 lead changes and 13 ties. The Broncos led 35-29 at halftime, but IPFW was fast out of the break with an 11-2 run to take a 40-37 lead with 17:10 on the second-half clock, getting three-pointers from John Konchar, Landis and Mo Evans, along with a Landis layup. Back-to-back three-pointers from Landis tied it at 48-48 at 13:15, but WMU answered with three more three-pointers to lead 57-50 with 11:08 to play in regulation. The Mastodons responded with a 13-4 run to lead 63-61 at 7:05, getting two big three-pointers from Racine Talla, off the bench. Three ties and four lead changes later, it was 74-70 in favor of the visitors at 4:06 following consecutive layups from Brent Calhoun and Konchar. WMU missed two three-point attempts and a layup over the final 1:32.
Landis led IPFW with his game-high 25 points, including 6-11 three-pointers. Evans and Konchar each added 16 points for the Mastodons, with Konchar adding a game-high nine rebounds and three steals, while Evans added eight rebounds and a game-high seven assists. Michael Calder had 10 points for the visitors, off the bench. IPFW shot 48% (30-62) from the field, including 50% (13-26) on three-pointers and 62% (16-26) at the free throw line.
