Women's Tennis Wins Fourth Straight, 5-2 over NKU

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - A doubles victory, coupled with three wins in the first four singles matches propelled the IPFW women's tennis team to its fourth straight win, improving the team to 7-2 on the season.
The IPFW top doubles pair of Mayu Sato and Marcy Huck made quick work of their opponent, winning 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Kristine Lindal and Carlota Trevino picked up a 6-3 win at No. 2, closing the doubles point for IPFW. At No. 3 pairs, Sara Sherif and Alina Schibol were leading 5-4 when the match was halted for time constraints.
In singles, Schibol was the first to claim a victory on either side, with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, before Sato picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1.
After a NKU win at No. 4 singles, Sara Sherif clinched the match for the Mastodons with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5. The Mastodons fell in a battle at No. 2 by a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 score, before Marcy Huck won the afternoon's marathon-match by a 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (10-2) score to give the match its final score at 5-2.
The Mastodons travel to Toledo, Ohio, after the match and will face off against the Rockets starting at 10 a.m. before making the trek to East Lansing, Michigan immediately after for a battle with the Michigan State Spartans at 5 p.m.
