
Men's Basketball Set for Senior Day at the Gates Center

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's basketball team will face off against Western Illinois on Saturday evening at the Gates Sports Center, as the fans can say goodbye to the team's three seniors - Isaiah McCray, Joe Edwards, and Steve Forbes - who are playing in their final games on the IPFW campus.

IPFW comes into its final home game of the 2014-15 season looking to snap out of its two-game losing skid.
In the team's last game, a 73-67 loss to Omaha, Max Landis and Steve Forbes each scored 13 points, leading five players in double-figure scoring. Joe Reed pulled down six rebounds, while Mo Evans dished out a game-high six assists, while Landis gave out five helpers.
Forbes leads a group of six players who average at least eight points per game with his 14.2 point per game average. Joe Edwards (11.4) and Evans (10.0) are both over the double-figure scoring plateau, with Landis (9.0), Reed (8.4), and Isaiah McCray (8.1) all fall in behind Forbes.
Forbes' rebounding average of 6.1 paces the squad, while McCray is second on the team with 5.6 rebounds per game. Evans has dished out 92 assists, with three others - Edwards, Landis, and McCray - have 63, 62, and 60 assists, each. McCray has a team-best 26 blocked shots and 36 steals.

In the team's last game, a 71-66 loss at IUPUI, Garret Covington scored a game-high 30 points, hitting 10-of-21 from the field, and 5-of-9 from long range. J.C. Fuller added 14 points, while dishing out a game-high six assists. Covington added seven rebounds, while Covington picked up a trio of steals.
For the season, Covington averages 15.5 points per game, fourth-highest in the league. J.C. Fuller is second on the team with an 11.5 point per game average, while Jabari Sandifer averages 7.5 points and a league-best 4.4 assists per game.
Mohamed Conde leads the team by averaging 6.1 rebounds per game, as the Leathernecks get out-rebounded by an average of 4.8 rebounds per game. As a team, Western Illinois shoots 40.2 percent from the field, and have hit on 35.2 percent of their three-point field goals.
