BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - In its final tournament before the Summit League Championship, the IPFW men's golf team travels to Indiana University for the two-day, 54-hole NYX Hoosier Invitational beginning April 11.
Event: NYX Hoosier Invitational
Host: Indiana
When: April 11 & 12
Tee Times: Saturday, 8:30 a.m. shotgun | Sunday, 9 a.m. shotgun
Where: IU Golf Course | Bloomington, Ind.
Par: 71
Yardage: 6,813
Format: 54-hole stroke play with 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Saturday
Live Scoring: GolfStat Live Scoring
COMPETING TEAMS
IPFW will compete against 16 other teams. The Mastodons and host Indiana will be joined by: Wisconsin, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Toledo, Xavier, Cincinnati, Illinois State, Youngstown State, Drake, Oakland, Dayton, Bradley, IUPUI, Evansville and Western Illinois.
THE COURSE
Unlike many modern day courses, there are no housing or commercial properties disturbing an atmosphere that is purely golf. Built in 1957, most of the 18 holes are framed by mature trees that defend the integrity of the course and make par a usually unattainable challenge. There are no water hazards or fairway bunkers, mostly because the trees offer sufficient problems for the golfer who expects to be challenged.
