Devereux Leads the Way After 36 Holes of NYX Hoosier Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The IPFW men's golf team carded opening rounds of 313 and 304 to finish the first day of the NYX Hoosier Invitational in 17th place with a team score of 617.
Hosted by Indiana University at the par-71 IU Golf Course, the tournament is being played at 6,813 yards. Wisconsin has a three-stroke lead after the first two rounds with a team score of 565. Four players sit tied atop the individual leaderboard after carding a 138 for the day: Jack Watson of Wisconsin, Chris Selfridge of Toledo, John Michael O'Toole of Cincinnati, and Jose Montano of Xavier.
Drake Devereux fired the lowest round of the day for the Mastodons, a second-round 2-under-par 73, to finish tied for 65th with a 151. David Watterson and Oliver Gibson carded 36-hole scores of 155, respectively, to sit tied for 76th. Finishing one stroke back after two rounds in a tie for 81st is Devin Jenkins. Tyler Meyer closed out the first day in 89th place, shooting a combined score of 163.
The final round of the NYX Hoosier Invitational will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start on April 12.
