Fort Wayne Falls to North Dakota State on Senior Day

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne women's soccer team fell to North Dakota State 5-0 on Senior Day at Hefner Field on Sunday (Oct. 23).
Prior to the contest, Fort Wayne honored its seven seniors for the last home game of their careers. Kiley Dunning, Katie Hartnett, Andie Lazzerini, Mayson Whitman, Gaby Romo, Malissa Hofmeister and Katrina Sutherly were each given a frame jersey to remember their time at Fort Wayne. In addition, each senior started the contest against NDSU.
Fort Wayne (3-12-2, 0-4-2 Summit) gave up two goals within a minute of each other in the first half to go down 2-0 at half. Britney Monteon and Holly Enderle scored the first half goals.
North Dakota State (9-7-1, 4-2-1) struck again in the second half when Malley O' Brien scored a goal at the 47 minute mark. Enderle got her second goal of the day at minute 50, and Hannah Butzlaff scored a goal in the 59th minute.
Lazzerini contributed four shots for the Mastodons, with one being on goal. Hannah Kroger also added two shots, with one on goal.
Dunning recorded one save and Haley Lydon snagged six.
The Mastodons are back in action on Friday when they visit Denver for a match at 8 p.m. Summit League play concludes on Sunday (Oct. 30) when the Mastodons face off against the hosting South Dakota Coyotes.
