Scouting the Mastodons
Fort Wayne men's soccer (8-8-0, 1-3-0 Summit) enters Saturday night with plenty on the line. The 'Dons are back in the thick of a race for a spot in the Summit League tournament with a victory. They then head to Western Illinois to close the regular season.
Scouting the Jaguars
IUPUI (1-13-1, 0-4-0 Summit) is coming off a tie to Northern Kentucky earlier this week. Infact, each of IUPUI's last three opponents (Oral Roberts, Detroit and Northern Kentucky) are teams the Mastodons have defeated this year. Uriel Macias leads the Jags in goals with three.
Series History
The Jaguars own a 13-10-1 advantage in the all-time series but the 'Dons have won the last two meetings in Fort Wayne. The all-time series goes back to 1987.
Tonight….Is Senior Night
Fort Wayne will honor five seniors during a ceremony on Saturday evening as Thilo Körperich, Spencer Brown, Jacob Murphy, Stephen Danielian and Raphael Kotzock will play their final home match.
One = Nine
A win on Saturday would give the 'Dons their ninth win of the season, setting a new NCAA Division I era program record for single season wins. It would match the 2004 and 2011 squads which also recorded eight wins. A ninth win would also be the most single season wins for the 'Dons since they went 10-8-0 in 2000.
No Time To Tie
Fort Wayne has played 40 matches since participating in a contest that results in a tie. Their last tie came Oct. 7, 2014 against Detroit.
Four With Four
Four 'Dons have scored four or more goals this season. Jacob Murphy and Oscar Uyamadu both have seven goals. and Zach Tom owns five goals while Thilo Körperich has scored four times.
Last Time Out
Fort Wayne used a late goal from Oscar Uyamadu to defeat Bowling Green 2-1 on Tuesday.
Looking Ahead
The 'Dons hit the road on Saturday, Nov. 5 for a match at Western Illinois. It will be the regular season finale for both squads.
