Fort Wayne enters Sunday's contest looking for their first win of the season. Including Friday's contest at Arkansas, the Mastodons are playing four games in nine days to open the season.
Last Time Out
The 'Dons fell 92-83 at Arkansas on Friday in the opener for both clubs. Five 'Dons finished in double digits including 17 by John Konchar. He added 12 rebounds for a double-double. The 'Dons kept the Razorbacks within striking distance for the majority of the second half. A Racine Talla tip-in at the 5:01 mark made it a five-point game at 77-72. However Arkansas answered with 12-2 run to take control of the game. Fort Wayne limited Southeastern Conference Preseason Player of the Year Moses Kingsley to nine points.

In the exhibition against Capital, Kason Harrell contributed 16 points. He returned on Friday in the opener at Arkansas to score 14 points on 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Last year he only hit double-digits in one game.

The 'Dons earned the No. 15 ranking in the first CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll of the 2016-17 season. Fort Wayne is the highest ranked Summit League team on the poll. North Dakota State is No. 19 and South Dakota State received votes. The No. 15 ranking is the highest spot a Summit League team has ever received in a preseason Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The 'Dons finished last year at No. 20 in the Mid-Major Poll. The Mastodons peaked at an all-time school-best No. 14 position last February.
2016-17 Preseason All-Summit League Honors
Two Mastodons earned Preseason All-Summit League accolades. John Konchar was named to the 2016-17 Summit League Preseason First Team. Mo Evans picked up second team accolades. Konchar averaged 13.0 points and 9.2 rebounds per game on his way to 2015-16 Summit League First Team honors last year. Evans averaged 16.9 points per game last year while adding better than five assists per contest.
Ironman
John Konchar finished last season 55th in the nation and second in the conference in total minutes (1211:00). His total ranked fourth among all-freshmen in the nation.
