Fort Wayne Runs Away From Mississippi Valley Sate, 79-54

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne men's basketball wasted little time defeating Mississippi Valley State 79-54 on Saturday (Nov. 26) in a non-conference game at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
The 'Dons took the lead for good with a 10-0 run in the middle of the first half to go up 24-15. John Konchar had seven points in the push as Fort Wayne limited the Delta Devils to 0-of-5 from the floor in the stretch.
Fort Wayne finished the half shooting better than 50 percent as they took a 37-23 lead to the break. It was more of the same in the second half when Fort Wayne scored 42 points in the final 20 minutes.
Bryson Scott had a game-high 23 points on an efficient 8-of-10 performance from the floor. He also pitched in three steals. Konchar scored 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting. Mo Evans also had 13 points while adding six assists.
Fort Wayne shot 52.9 percent (27-of-51) from the floor while limiting the Delta Devils to 31.8 percent (21-of-66). The 'Dons connected on 16-of-19 from the free throw line.
Mississippi Valley State falls to 0-7. The 'Dons improve to 4-2 and host Siena Heights on Monday (Nov. 28) at 7 p.m. at the Gates Sports Center.
