CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Fort Wayne's potent offense came to play Wednesday (Nov. 30) night at Austin Peay as the Mastodons defeated the reigning Ohio Valley Conference champion Governors 103-99.
The 'Dons shot 59 percent from the floor in the first half as they took a lead as large as 15 in the first 20 minutes. It was a 10-point 47-37 lead at the break before four quick Fort Wayne points to start the second half forced an Austin Peay timeout 1:02 into the second.
The Governors would advance within six points at 84-78 with 4:33 remaining. A corner 3-pointer by Kason Harrell pushed the Fort Wayne lead back to 10 at 89-79 a minute later. It was another Harrell 3-pointer with just over a minute left that made it a 96-86 game and all but ended it for the Governors.
