‘Dons Win Sixth Straight With 87-71 Victory Over Miami (Ohio)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne men's basketball led wire-to-wire in an 87-71 victory over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday (Dec. 3) at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
The Mastodons limited Miami's Michael Weathers, a freshman averaging over 20 points per game, to only 12 points on 5-of-17 shooting. He was 4-of-12 in a first half as the 'Dons cruised to a 44-28 halftime lead. Mo Evans scored 14 of his 23 points in the opening half. He added 10 assists for his third double-double of the year. Evans made 5-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Bryson Scott totaled 24 points, making three 3-pointers. John Konchar earned his fourth double-double of the year with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Kason Harrell pitched in 11 points.
The 'Dons extended their lead to 22 points on a basket by Brent Calhoun two minutes into the second half. They never looked back.
Fort Wayne shot 50 percent from the floor, marking their fourth straight game of shooting 50 percent or better.
Fort Wayne improves to 7-2. Miami falls to 4-4. The 'Dons are in action again on Tuesday (Dec. 5) at Notre Dame. Start time is set for 9 p.m. The game will air on ESPNU.
