FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- IPFW, ranked No. 16 in the latest Mid-Major Top 25, will welcome No. 13 South Dakota State University in a Summit League men's basketball battle for first place Thursday night, February 18, at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center on campus in Fort Wayne beginning at 7 p.m. The Mastodons (20-7, 9-3 Summit League) of second-year head coach Jon Coffman are led in scoring by redshirt-senior Max Landis/Indianapolis (18.9), redshirt-freshman John Konchar/Chicago, Ill. (12.1) and senior Joe Reed/Greenwood (10.4). The Jackrabbits (20-6, 9-3 Summit League) are coached by Scott Nagy, who is in his 21st season, and are led in scoring by seniors Deondre Parks (15.8) and George Marshall (15.8), redshirt-freshman Mike Daum (14.3) and senior Jake Bittle (10.2). It's Senior Night for members of the IPFW cheerleading squad and pep band, and they'll be recognized during a special halftime ceremony.

Last Time Out
Landis scored a game-high 30 points, including seven three-point field goals, to lead IPFW to an 88-84 Summit League home win past Denver. The Mastodons led 35-31 at halftime behind 14 first-half points from Landis, including 4-4 three-pointers, and Konchar had 10 points at the break. IPFW opened the second half with seven-straight points to take a 42-31 lead at 18:38, getting five quick points from Michael Calder/Fort Lauderdale, Fla., including a three-pointer along with a steal and slam dunk. The Pioneers answered with a 10-0 run to make it 42-41 at 15:34. The Mastodons used a 7-0 run to lead 55-47 at 11:16, getting another three-pointer from Landis, along with a drive to the basket and huge two-handed slam dunk in traffic by Konchar at 12:46.
