FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's volleyball team opens MIVA (Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) at No. 7 Ohio State, Thursday, February 4, at 7 p.m.

Tough Nut to Crack... The Mastodons are 29-48 all-time in the state of Ohio, including a 13-38 record against the Buckeyes in Columbus. IPFW has won four of the last six meetings with Ohio State, including a three-match sweep in 2014, but dropped both matches last season.
The highest ranked team the 'Dons have beat in Ohio during the regular season was No. 12 Ohio State, 3-2, on February 24, 2006. IPFW will become just the third MIVA program and fifth outside of California to reach the 1,000 match plateau. The 'Dons are 3-21 all-time against the seventh-ranked team with the only wins coming at Lewis (3-2, April 23, 1999), at a neutral site against BYU (3-2, April 2, 1993), and a home match against Long Beach State (3-1, Jan. 30, 1993). Luis Bertran was named the MIVA Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 2 following his performance at George Mason and NJIT. Bertran combined for 19 digs against the Patriots and Highlanders. This was his third collegiate MIVA Player of the Week honor.
