
IPFW Closes Two-Game Road Swing At North Dakota State Saturday

FARGO, N.D. -- IPFW, ranked No. 15 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25, will play at North Dakota State University in Summit League men's basketball action Saturday, February 6, at Scheels Arena in Fargo, North Dakota at 5 p.m. ET. The Mastodons (19-6, 8-2 Summit League) of second-year head coach Jon Coffman are led in scoring by redshirt-senior Max Landis/Indianapolis (18.9), coming off a school-record 44-point performance at South Dakota Thursday night that included a school-record 11 three-point field goals, along with redshirt-freshman John Konchar/Chicago, Ill. (12.5) and senior Joe Reed/Greenwood (10.5). The Bison are coached by David Richman, who is also in his second season, and are led in scoring by sophomores Paul Miller (16.5) and A.J. Jacobson (12.9), along with senior Kory Brown (10.0).

The Bison are coached by David Richman, who is in his second season as head coach at NDSU. North Dakota State has three scoring in double-figures, including sophomores Paul Miller (16.5) and A.J. Jacobson (12.9), along with senior Kory Brown (10.0). The Bison have averaged 71.7 points, while allowing 65.3 points, and are 9-1 in home games this season, 4-1 in the league. NDSU is currently fifth in the Summit League standings.

Landis scored a school-record 44 points to lead IPFW to a 95-82 Summit League road win at South Dakota in Vermillion. Landis' 44-point night included a school-record 11 three-point field goals (11-15) as the visiting Mastodons made a school-record 20 three-pointers (20-36). IPFW took a 22-15 lead seven minutes into the contest after making six three-pointers … three by Landis, who missed on his first attempt from beyond the arc before making three-straight and 6-8 in the opening half. The Mastodons led 31-23 at 8:57 following Landis' fourth three-pointer, and the lead was its largest of the half at 34-25 after a conventional three-point play by senior Michael Calder/Fort Lauderdale, Fla. at 8:29. USD closed to within 36-33 at 3:56, but a pair of three-pointers from Landis, as well as his two-point jumper, along with a layup by Calder pushed the advantage back to nine at 46-37. IPFW led 46-40 at the intermission behind 24 first-half points from Landis (6-8 3FGs), while Calder and junior DeAngelo Stewart/Detroit, Mich. each had eight first-half points. USD scored the first basket of the second half to make it a four-point game, but that was as close as the hosts would get … IPFW answered with a three-pointer from Calder that started a 10-4 run capped by a three-pointer from Stewart that made it 56-46 at 13:56.
