'Dons Blank Indiana Tech In Exhibition Play 4-0

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne men's soccer opened up their 2016 season with an exhibition contest on Tuesday (Aug. 16) at Indiana Tech, coming out on top 4-0.
Oscar Uyamadu began the Mastodons' first half scoring efforts with an unassisted goal in the fifth minute, with a shot placed toward the left corner of the net. Sophomore Erick Turner secured a 2-0 first half lead in the 30th minute, with a low shot through Warrior goalkeeper, Adam Viviano's arms. Turner was assisted by freshman Will Hunt.
Fort Wayne continued their offensive attack early in the second half, led by an unassisted goal from sophomore Zach Tom off a shot rebound in the 53rd minute. Senior Jacob Murphy took advantage of a blocked penalty kick from teammate Darren Doyle, taking the header in for a four goal lead.
Raphael Kotzock recorded one save in the first half before being replaced by freshman Andrew VonGunten.
Fort Wayne will play their final exhibition contest on Friday against Wright State in a 7 p.m. start.
