Jenkins Wins NKU Fall Classic on Fourth Playoff Hole

BATAVIA, Ohio - On the fourth playoff hole of the NKU Fall Classic, Fort Wayne men's golfer Devin Jenkins captured the individual title after shooting a two-day score of even-par 213. As a team, the Mastodons climbed two spots on the final day to finish third with a combined score of 874.
Hosted by Northern Kentucky at the par-71, 6,845-yard Elks Run Golf Club, Dayton captured the team title with a 54-hole score of 859.
The 'Dons recorded the lowest team round of the day with a 288, four shots better than any other team, to finish three strokes back of second place Oakland.
Jenkins defeated Phillip Johnson of Dayton and Green Bay's Joe Duchateau when he recorded par on the 475-yard, par-4 No. 4 hole. On the day, Jenkins carded a 2-over-par 73, which included a pair of birdies. With the title, he becomes the second Mastodon golfer to capture medalist honors, joining teammate Zach Schroeder.
Schroeder carded a team-low 1-under-par 70 to finish the tournament tied for 12th with a 219. Keegan Bronnenberg tied for 23rd place after shooting a 73 on the day to finish at 222 for the week. David Watterson shot a 54-hole score of 225 to cap off the classic in a tie for 32nd. Cody White rounded out the team scoring for the Mastodons with a 230 and finish tied for 57th.
Josh Keating played as an individual and finished tied for 57th with a two-day score of 230.
Fort Wayne returns to the course October 10-11 for the Kenny Perry Invitational.
