FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Two second half goals by Denver ended up being the difference in Fort Wayne men's soccer's 3-1 loss to the Pioneers on Saturday (Oct. 14) evening at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
Denver, the preseason pick to win the Summit League, took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute thanks to a goal by Kyle Morlack. The score was assisted by Jacob Stensson and Graham Smith. It came off a corner kick.
Fort Wayne's Oscar Uyamadu earned the equalizer in the 38th minute for his fourth goal of the year. Cam Sinclair recorded an assist on the goal after finding Uyamadu in a crowd.
It stayed knotted at one until late into the second half. Andre Shinyashiki scored on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute and then scored again six minutes later.
Denver improves to 7-6-0 (2-0-0 Summit). The 'Dons fall to 3-7-4 (0-3-1 Summit). Fort Wayne is back in action on Wednesday at Cincinnati in a non-league game.
