Men’s Soccer Picks Up Road Win At Bowling Green 2-1

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Fort Wayne men's soccer rallied from a one-goal halftime deficit to defeat Bowling Green 2-1 on Tuesday (Oct. 24) evening in non-conference action.
The Falcons and Mastodons were seconds from going to the break tied at zero but the Falcons found the back of the net with nine seconds left in the first half. Chris Sullivan used a header for a goal on a free kick, assisted by Ebenezer Ackon and Tate Robertson.
Fort Wayne tied it up in the 55th minute. Carmelo Morales scored from 10 yards out. His score was assisted by Will Hunt.
The 'Dons went up for good at 61:11 when Matthew Lieshout scored his second goal of the year. His score came on a free kick from 25 yards out.
Fort Wayne held a 6-5 edge in shots on goal. Fort Wayne goalkeeper Brendan Stangel made four saves to pick up the victory.
The match was played on a chilly night with wind gusts of 20 miles per hour.
It is the second consecutive season the 'Dons have defeated Bowling Green by a 2-1 score.
Fort Wayne improves to 4-8-4. The Falcons fall to 6-8-1. Fort Wayne is back in action on Halloween evening at IUPUI in a 7 p.m. start.
