Mastodons Treated To 2-1 Halloween Win At IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS – Jan Schumacher scored twice in Fort Wayne men's soccer's 2-1 non-league victory at IUPUI on Tuesday (Oct. 31) evening.
IUPUI opened the scoring with a goal 110 seconds into the contest. Uriel Macias scored from nine yards out for the Jaguars. His shot was set up from a pass by Nick Anderson.
The Jaguars' lead didn't last long. In the eighth minute, Schumacher scored for the Mastodons. His goal, from only six yards out, was assisted by Carmelo Morales.
The two clubs went to the break tied at one. In the 49th minute, however, it was Schumacher again finding the back of the net. He scored his second goal of the night, and third of the year, on a play assisted by Matthew Lieshout and Oscar Uyamadu.
Brendan Stangel had three saves for the visitors.
The win improves Fort Wayne to 5-8-4 on the season. IUPUI falls to 0-14-2.
The 'Dons are back in action on Saturday (Nov. 4) at 6 p.m. against Eastern Illinois. It is Senior Night for the 'Dons. Note the start time, an hour earlier from the originally announced time.
