Men's Golf Ends Record Breaking Week With New 54 Hole Mark

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne men's golf team closed out a record breaking week by setting a new 54-hole team score during the final day of the Fighting Irish Classic, shooting a 288 to finish sixth with a two-day score of 849.
Hosted by Notre Dame at the par-70, 6,925-yard Warren Golf Course, the Fighting Irish won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 822. Tying for medalist honors with a 6-under-par 204 was David Hicks from William & Mary and Steven Fisk of Georgia Southern.
The Mastodons finished the week with a team score of 849, surpassing the old mark of 851 set exactly a decade ago to the day, during the IPFW Fall Classic in 2007.
Zac Turi led the 'Dons on the day with a 1-under-par 69 to finish tied with teammate Eric Brinker for 12th place with a two-day score of 211. The duo moved into a tie for second place all-time for individual 54-hole score.
Josh Keating ended his week tied for 25th place after shooting a 73 on the day and a 214 for the tournament. Zach Schroeder and Callahan Elzey round out the Mastodon scoring with a 218 and tying for 41st. Schroeder carded a 72 on the day while Elzey finished with a 77.
Fort Wayne closes out its fall season at the Dayton Flyer Invitational October 16-17.
