2018 Fort Wayne Baseball Schedule Released

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The 2018 Fort Wayne baseball schedule was released on Thursday (Nov. 2). The slate features a stretch from the end of March through April where the Mastodons host 18-of-25 games at home.
The season opens with a four-game trip to Huntsville, Alabama, to face off against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs from February 16-18. It will be the fifth consecutive season the 'Dons travel to Alabama A&M to open the season. The following weekend the 'Dons take on the University of Arkansas Little Rock for a four-game series from February 23-25.
The Summit League season opens when the team travels to Omaha, Nebraska, to take on the Mavericks from March 16-18. Fort Wayne hosts their first conference home weekend against North Dakota State the following weekend (March 23-25).
The team then starts a long stretch with the majority of games at home including non-league contests with Bowling Green (March 28) and Butler (April 10). Fort Wayne will also host Summit League foes Western Illinois (March 30-1), Omaha (April 20-21) and South Dakota State (April 27-29) during this stretch.
After a long stretch of home games, Fort Wayne will hit the road for two conference road matchups at Western Illinois University (May 4-6) and North Dakota State University (May 11-13). The Mastodons' May schedule will also include single-game non-conference contests at Purdue University (May 8) and Ball State University (May 15). The final regular-season series comes May 17-19 at home against Oral Roberts. The Summit League Tournament is set for May 23-26 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
