The Coyotes were picked to finish seventh in the preseason poll but are tied with Denver for second in the league with idential 7-4 league marks. The Coyotes have won three of their last four games, including a 76-66 victory at first place North Dakota State in the Coyotes' last contest.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons (16-8, 5-5 Summit) have two players in the top five across four categories of individual leaders in the league. Mo Evans is second in 3-point percentage with 49.4 percent and third in points per game with 17.8. John Konchar is first in rebounds per game with 9.0 and first in field-goal percentage with 63.5 percent.
THE SERIES
Fort Wayne leads the all-time series 8-5. The 'Dons won all three from the Coyotes last year, including an 86-70 victory over the Coyotes in the Summit League Tournament. But South Dakota edged Fort Wayne this season in Vermillion on Jan. 14. The 'Dons went on a 13-1 run late in the game to take a 63-61 lead with two minutes left. But South Dakota rallied back in the final 120 seconds to pick up the victory.
LAST TIME OUT
Fort Wayne fell at the buzzer on Saturday at Denver when C.J. Bobbitt made a three from the top of the arc with no time remaining in overtime. John Konchar finished with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds. Mo Evans added 18 points and five assists.
UP NEXT
Fort Wayne returns to the court this Saturday, Feb. 11 vs. Omaha in a 7 p.m. ET start at the Gates Sports Center during Homecoming Week.

Mo Evans picked up his 1,000th career point this year. He is the 13th player in program history to reach the plateau. He now owns 1,393 career points and ranks sixth all-time in scoring at Fort Wayne. To reach the fifth spot he will need to pass Ben Botts' 1,400 points. Botts played for Fort Wayne from 2007-11 and is a current assistant coach for the 'Dons.

20-21 VISION
Fort Wayne made 20 3-pointers vs. Oral Roberts on Dec. 31. It tied a league record for most 3-pointers in a Summit League contest. The total tied the school record set last season when the 'Dons made 20 in a win at South Dakota on Feb. 4, 2016. Then on Jan. 9 the Mastodons made 21 3-pointers in a win over NCAA Division III Olivet to break the school record.
SENSATIONAL SENIOR
Senior Brent Calhoun is making his senior year his best. He is averaging 7.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. Each are on pace to be career bests.
