Shannon Baker hit a two-run home run in both the fifth and eighth innings. Brock Logan hit a solo home run for the Mastodons in the second inning.
Fort Wayne led 3-0 after Baker's home run in the fifth. South Dakota State followed with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and then five in the sixth to take control of the game.
Mitchell Ley earned a no decision for the Mastodons. Cameron Boyd threw one inning and suffered the loss and is now 0-3. Derek Feige earned the win for the Jackrabbits. He is 2-2 after throwing 1.2 innings.
Logan finished with two RBIs. Brady Hettinger had two hits and two runs scored.
South Dakota State improves to 13-10 (6-3 Summit). The 'Dons fall to 5-20 (1-8 Summit). Fort Wayne is back in action on Tuesday (April 4) against Clearly.
