CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Lexi O'Connell set a new school record in the 100 hurdles for the Fort Wayne women's track and field team at the Illinois Twilight meet on Saturday (April 22) evening. O'Connell notched a time of 15.08 to take ninth in the event and set the new record. She broke Angie Suel's mark of 15.09 from 2006.
Madison Fruchey was third in the 5,000 meters. She crossed the finish line in 17:24.77.
Jenna Quillen took seventh in the 400 hurdles, stopping the clock in 1:06.25. Kailee Schoof was eighth in the steeplechase (12:00.88). Savannah Girolami took 11th in the 400 meters (59.93). Emma Rafuse ran the 800 meters in 2:18.24 to take 14th. Morgan Blyly used a time of 5:03.32 to finish 17th in the 1500 meters. Randi Jannette earned 17th in the 100 meters (13.20).
The 'Dons tied with Butler for 12th place with 10 points. Fort Wayne returns to action on the 27th at the Drake Relays and the 28th at Hillsdale's Gina Relays.
