Fort Wayne Edged In Non-League Game By Detroit Mercy 2-1

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne men's soccer fell in a non-league match to Detroit Mercy on Wednesday (Sept. 13) evening at the Hefner Soccer Complex 2-1.
Matthew Lieshout put the Mastodons on the board in the 69th minute. He jumped on a scramble in the box to find the back of the net. Lieshout's goal, his first of the season, cut the Fort Wayne deficit in half.
Detroit Mercy opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Tyler Moorman tapped in a shot from the edge of the 18 over a charging goalkeeper. Spiro Pliakos assisted on the goal.
Pliakos put the Titans up 2-0 with a tally in the 47th minute. He scored on a breakaway up the left side.
The 'Dons out-shot the Titans 15-11, including a 10-3 edge in the final half.
Fort Wayne falls to 1-3-3. Detroit Mercy stays unbeaten on the year at 4-0-1. The 'Dons hit the field again on Saturday at Bradley.
